1- Implant Treatment plan Phase:
Each case should get a solid personalized treatment plan that can involve different proposed solutions and scenarios that you can discuss with our Implantology team. The final expected result in terms of the look of implanted teeth and functionality within the whole picture of the case is evaluated at this stage. Adequate clinical and radiographic examination is mandatory to reach such plan. Our state-of-the-art 3D Dental CT imaging (CBCT) will give our Implantology team an excellent idea on the quality and quantity of your jaw bones. Prof. Azim or Dr. Hisham Azim will personally show you the plan on our Giant 60 inch screen in a virtual dynamic demonstration. Patients should be well informed and consented. All relevant questions and worries should be answered.
2. Implant Surgical Insertion Phase:
This is the process of placing the implants into the mouth jaw bone. Since the procedure is friendly and atraumatic, local anesthesia is usually enough and no pain is expected during the procedure. However General anesthesia can be discussed if needed. Immediate Implants following a tooth extraction with or without immediate crowns provide our patients with a time saving excellent solution. The insertion of implants can be done in a computer guided way in difficult cases based on the 3D image previously taken. 3. Prosthetic restoration Phase:
Building the crowns or bridges over the dental implants.
You can have any number of your teeth replaced with implants from one single tooth to a complete set, and keep your healthy ones intact.
Proper clinical and radiographic evaluation is mandatory prior to implant treatment planning. Sometimes bone augmentation, bone expansion or maxillary sinus membrane lifting is necessary for a successful plan. Frequently Asked Questions
Is it possible to have an implant on the same day of extraction?
Proper examination and case evaluation will show if your case can take an “Immediate Implant” . The literature shows that 80% of situations will allow that procedure. An implant is the screw shaped titanium insert that takes the place of a natural root. The crown will follow in 2-4 months. Only in front teeth, full jaw implants and some other limited cases, we can give you also immediate temporary crowns on the same day.
What are the rates of failure in implants surgeries?
Failure rates range from 1 to 3% and they can be somehow higher with smokers and those compromised with lack of immunity.
Who is the right candidate for the implants?
Anyone who wants to replace his/her missed teeth. It can be used also to replace small bridges and dentures.
How long will it take?
